We are delighted to showcase our new series, ‘Flow’ and ‘Kite’, as well as recent additions to our ‘Sun’ series, at ‘Ethereal Nature’, an immersive group exhibition as part of Cromwell Place’s 'Lates for London Craft Week' from 15-19 May in London.
‘Flow’ is a series of ethereal wall- and ceiling sculptures that express the energy of water, light and air – essential for all life on earth. The dynamism and shape-shifting nature of these elements are captured and translated into delicate, abstract shapes that resemble leaves and feathers, twisting and twirling gracefully in mid-air.
‘Kite’ is a playful exploration of organic forms and textures. The colourful copper pipes evoke a kite’s tail, creating a sense of freedom and exhilaration. The series continues our study of the spiral form, a universal structure that is omnipresent at micro- and macro-levels throughout life and space. In ‘Kite’, spiral forms are repeated and deconstructed to create an exuberant, whimsical structure.
For ‘Sun – Aqua 58’ and ‘Sun – Earth 58’ we embark on laboratory experiments, accelerating the organic process of patination on brass and copper. Time, temperature, light and humidity all impact the patina, make the growing process of our colours experimental and unexpected, full of life.
